About Rusty Bar Ranch

Rusty Bar Ranch is a 30 acre horse ranch located just outside the rural town of Roy, near Seattle, Tacoma and OIympia.  Ray and I moved from Bothell, town northeast of Seattle, to Roy, in 2003, on what was originally a beef cattle ranch, in the 40's and then a wild mustang ranch, with horses from the Kiger Mountains of Oregon.  

After 20 years of boarding horses, and teaching lessons and clinics, we are now entering the world of agritourism.  Come have an experience with our miniature and full size horses .  Check out Sheena the wonder horse and what she has to offer.  Sheena is one of a kind and the only riding simulator west of the Mississippi used for lessons and clinics.  Meet, learn about, and socialize with our rescue horses in a safe, fun,  atmosphere.  We offer a variety of fun, safe horse adventures.  No horse experience needed!!

Kathy is a Certified Horsemanship Instructor, and has taught both English and Western disciplines.  She was named 2021 Instructor of the Year by the Certified Horsemanship Association.  Miniature Horse Ghost was a finalist for 2021 Lesson Horse of the Year at the November annual international conference in Ft. Worth, TX.  Her staff is fully trained in order to give you a one of a kind experience you will never forget.  

Our state-of-the-art facility includes an outdoor confidence building course, fully enclosed indoor arena,  fully enclosed round pen, heated viewing room, heated restroom, and comfortable atmosphere for our guests and our horses. We take pride in maintaining a clean and safe environment for everyone.
